What are Clipart, Digital Papers and Printables?

In the Chapulines Collection shop there are Digital Clipart images, Digital Papers, and Printables (so far).

1. Digital Clipart Images. They're like digital stickers, they usually are JPG or PNG images, and you can use them to create graphics (cards, scrapbook pages, party invitations and decorations, school graphics, etc.) using computer software like: Corel® Coreldraw®; Adobe® Illustrator®, Photoshop®; Microsoft® Office® Word®, PowerPoint®, Excel®, etc.

Regular JPG and PNG images have a white background, but some PNG images have a transparent background, and you can use the background (color or image) of your choice.

*If you want a transparent background PNG image, make sure the image you want actually has a transparent background.

Image 1. Regular JPG/PNG image (white background) and transparent background PNG image.

White background JPG and PNG images are perfect if you're going to have a white background in your graphic/design, but if you're going to use a different background color, a transparent background PNG image is your best option.

*Be careful with PNG transparency effects (like drop shadows) this kind of effects doesn't print well from Microsoft® Office® software or similar, but the 100% transparent background PNG images don't have this problem.

Besides the JPG and PNG images (pixel images), another popular image format is: EPS, the EPS is a vector image, vectors are really cool!!!, but I'll talk exclusively about them in another post, vectors topic needs a special post!

2. Digital Papers. They're like the scrapbooking papers, but they're in a digital format. And just like the Clipart images, they usually are JPG and PNG images.

Digital Papers can be used for digital scrapbooking, cards, etc., but they also can be printed to be used for traditional paper crafts.

3. Printables. They're ready to print files, usually PDF files (party printables, paper dolls, cards, wall art, etc.). You need the Adobe® Acrobat® software to print them, but don't worry, it's a freeware and you can download it from the Adobe® website.

The Artist's Way: An inspiring Book!

It's my first post about Inspiration, and it's dedicated to The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, an inspiring book I love.

The Artist's Way is mostly for writers, but It's good for all kind of creatives, in other words... for everybody!, in this book you will find interesting ideas, uplifting quotes, and fun excersises to overcome creative blocks, limiting beliefs and self-sabotage.

It's about allowing ourselves to be creative, imperfect, and enjoying it!, it's about having faith.

“Perfectionism is not a quest for the best. It is a pursuit of the worst in ourselves, the part that tells us that nothing we do will ever be good enough...” The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron

The description of the book is: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, and Julia Cameron talks a lot about God in it, she has a beautiful perspective about God!, but even if you don't believe in God and/or if you don't like spiritual books, you might like this book!, am I too optimistic?, maybe...

To be sure, find more details about The Artist's Way on Amazon (a preview, table of contents and other reviews): Click here to go to The Artist's Way on Amazon

Have a nice and creative day!
